Should I get my ear pierced?

I am a 15 year old male. I am 6"0 tall, pale but not pasty, my hair is usually short with the front spiked, i have red hair, hazel eyes. Would I look good with my left ear pierced? Also my mom keeps saying that an earring on a guy is "dated" how do I get her to realize that earrings are not "dated" anymore and that they are back in style.
