Burn, but turn white, will baby oil tan me?

So whenever I get a sunburn I turn pasty white again, but by the end of the summer I'll get a tiny bit darker but not much. I'll still be white. So my question is, if I use baby oil will I end up tan? How long should I lay out for? And I know baby oil will cause major damage to my skin later on, so I don't need informed on that. Thank you (:
